Terms of Use
Last updated 6 November 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and GOLDEN GENIUS LTD (“we”, “us”), the company behind CatShot. By creating an account or using CatShot, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use CatShot.
- CatShot is for two adults who both want to play. You must be 18 or older.
- You always choose what you send. Never use CatShot to watch, control or pressure anyone.
- Either of you can pause, unpair or block at any time.
- One subscription covers both of you. It renews automatically until you cancel it in your Apple ID settings.
1. Who can use CatShot
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to agree to these Terms.
- You may have one account, connected with one person at a time. Use your own first name and don't pretend to be someone else.
- You are responsible for what happens on your account and for keeping your iPhone secure.
2. How CatShot works
Either of you can ask for a Catshot. The other person then has 15 seconds to take a screenshot of whatever is on their screen. With Send as soon as I take it turned on, that screenshot is sent straight away; otherwise it is sent when they tap Send. Requests can arrive at any time unless you pause CatShot or set quiet hours. Catshots are deleted after 30 days, or sooner, as explained in the Privacy Policy. We may improve, change or remove features over time.
3. Consent and respect
- CatShot only works between two people who both agreed to it. By connecting with someone, you agree to receive their requests. You can withdraw that at any time by pausing, unpairing or blocking.
- A request is an invitation, never a demand. Nobody has to answer one, and nobody should be punished for not answering.
- Never use CatShot to monitor, track, control, threaten or pressure anyone, or to check on a person against their will.
- Don't send screenshots that show other people's private information without their permission, such as their messages, photos, contact details or accounts.
- Don't share, forward or publish your person's Catshots outside CatShot without their permission. If you save one to your photos, they are told.
4. What you must not send or do
- Anything illegal. Any content that sexualizes minors is strictly forbidden, leads to the account being closed and is reported to the authorities.
- Nudity or sexual content that your person hasn't clearly agreed to receive.
- Harassment, hate, threats, violence, or content that encourages self-harm.
- Content that infringes someone else's rights, such as copyright, trademarks or privacy.
- Abusing requests (for example, sending them to harass), trying to access other accounts, interfering with CatShot, using bots, or copying, reverse engineering or reselling the app.
5. Your content
You own the screenshots and anything else you send. You give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process and deliver your content to your person, only to run CatShot and only for as long as it is kept. You are responsible for what you send and you confirm you have the right to send it. We never use your Catshots for advertising.
6. Reports, safety and enforcement
You can report a Catshot from its menu, or write to hello@catshot.me. We review reports and may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close accounts that break these Terms. We may share information with the authorities when the law requires it or when someone's safety is at risk. Blocking someone ends your connection and stops you from being connected again.
7. Subscription and free trial
- Some features need a CatShot subscription. One subscription covers both people in a connection, so only one of you needs to subscribe. If the connection ends, the subscription stays with the person who bought it.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase or, if a free trial is offered, when the free trial ends.
- The subscription renews automatically for the same length and price unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your iPhone's Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions. Deleting CatShot or your account does not cancel it.
- A free trial, if offered, is available once. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- Prices are shown in the app in your local currency and may change. Apple will tell you before a price change applies to your subscription, as its rules require.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
8. Our app
CatShot, its name, logo, design and software belong to us and are protected by law. We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app under these Terms. Don't copy, modify or redistribute it.
9. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in CatShot's Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, and we may stop offering CatShot, giving notice where we reasonably can. Parts of these Terms that by their nature should continue (such as sections 5, 10, 11 and 13) continue after your account ends.
10. No guarantees
We work hard to keep CatShot running well, but it is provided “as is”. Requests, notifications and Live Activities depend on iOS, your settings and your connection, so we can't promise they always arrive on time or that CatShot is always available. We are not responsible for what your person sends you or for how they use what you send them. Nothing in these Terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of data, or content sent by other users, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for CatShot in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
12. Apple
- These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for CatShot or its content.
- Your license to use CatShot is limited to Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as allowed by the App Store's Usage Rules.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for CatShot.
- If CatShot fails to meet any applicable warranty, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for CatShot.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims about CatShot, including product liability, legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection and privacy, and for any claim that CatShot infringes someone's intellectual property.
- You confirm that you are not in a country under a US Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
13. Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and can bring a claim in your local courts.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for important changes, tell you in the app. If you keep using CatShot after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
